Summer Rain
The cool rain makes me feel alive,
Everything seems to reach towards the sky,
To drink…
The air feels easier to breathe
And the cool winds quiet my soul.
It’s simple really,
the sky subdued, Muted in Color
But then…
Splendors of excitement ignite
And Lightning strikes nearby.
Oh how I love the summer rain,
A welcome release from the scorching southern sun,
And yet…
Rain leaves hope for tomorrow.
The grass will be greener, the sky brighter,
And I will welcome the sun again
With eyes renewed and arms open.
